Correspondence with the Mayor/MTA/Commerce

One of our readers has written to the Mayor's Office, Nashville MTA,
and the Nashville Area
Chamber of Commerce. An excerpt from the letter, with full responses below:

"I am interested in helping with the development of a high speed rail from Atlanta/Nashville
or Atlanta/Nashville Louisville/Chicago. It would be a horrible situation if we get left out
and Memphis and
Charlotte/Raleigh are included."

  1. I have to wholeheartedly agree that Tennessee needs inclusion in any national rail plan. The TDOT has a rail plan that can and should be implemented to connect Memphis and Knoxville and with out of state funding Louisville to Atlanta through Nashville and Chattanooga and Knoxville into Virginia and the Northeastern US.

  2. The rail plan should be nationwide with highspeed rail via the medians of every interstate highway. Federal funding is avaliable in the 100s of millions to complete this. Get off foreign oil and provide the necessary transportation needs our nation requires and produce jobs relieveing the depression we're suffering from.
